The ADFP has lost its most prominent supporter and dear collaborator, Sami Naadi

26.08.2024

It is with great sorrow that we have learned of the passing of Sami Naadi, the renowned and distinguished Afghan-American sculptor, on August 25, 2024. With forty years of experience in sculpture and drawing, his work has garnered many admirers in both Europe and the United States. Two of his sculptures are housed in the White House, where they have been highly regarded by art enthusiasts.
Sami Naadi was undoubtedly one of Afghanistan’s foremost sculptors, living in the United States and striving to preserve Afghan history through the art of sculpture. He began learning the art of sculpture in 1979 at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Kabul, where he demonstrated extraordinary talent from the start. This talent later earned him a scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education, allowing him to study professionally in Minsk, in the former Soviet Union, where he attained a master’s degree in this esteemed art form.
The late Naadi created numerous works across Europe and America, earning high honors in both domestic and international exhibitions. In addition to his high artistic standing, he was known for his remarkable humanitarian spirit, contributing selflessly to human rights and social services organizations.
The ADFP also had the privilege of a close relationship with him, continually benefiting from his support and collaboration. We extend our deepest condolences to the Naadi family, the artistic community, and the free thinkers of Afghanistan on this profound loss.
May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be cherished.

Elderly Support Celebration Held in London

04.08.2024

On August 4, 2024, based on the ADFD and Brooken Water program, an Adult Support Celebration was held in London at the Brooken Water Conference Hall.

This event, attended by approximately one hundred civil society activists, human rights advocates, social service volunteers, and cultural workers dedicated to improving the conditions of the underprivileged, began with a message from the ADFP Director Mrs. Hafiza Nadi Antoni Adis.

In the message, guests were welcomed and provided with information about ADFP’s goals. Established and registered in London in 2021, ADFP is an organization defined by its humanitarian and non-profit activities in social, cultural, artistic, and educational fields. Its programs focus on supporting Afghan girls, aiding the homeless, supporting the elderly, celebrating cultural events, and building youth capacity. It was also mentioned that this “Elderly Support Program” is part of ADFP’s series of initiatives coordinated with the esteemed Brookin Water Institute, hence the gratitude expressed towards the president of Brookin Water and their esteemed colleagues.

The message emphasized that moral and even material support for the elderly is a way to show gratitude for their efforts in raising children and contributing to society’s progress. It is our duty not to leave them alone in this stage of life and to prominently highlight the ethical imperative of respecting and caring for them. ADFP started and continues its work with this motivation.

Thanks were extended to ADFP’s managers and colleagues, including Professor Sayed Hussain Eshraq, Mr. Moto Mobonaga, Mr. Andrew, Mr. Walizada, Mrs. Rahela Seddiqi, Mr john Solivan and young engineer Soroush Eshraq, for their ongoing collaborative efforts toward ADFP’s humanitarian goals, providing hope for the continuation of their work.

Special thanks were also given to the renowned Afghan artist Mr. Obaid Jooyenda, his colleagues, and his kind wife for adding a unique quality to the event with Afghan music performances.

Attendees were requested to support ADFP programs and were encouraged to visit the ADFP website and honor it with their collaboration.

It is worth noting that the Persian message from the ADFP President was read by engineer Mrs. Rahela Seddiqi, and the English version was read by ADFP Secretary Mr. John Sullivan.

The celebration, enhanced by the delightful music of famous Afghan artist Mr. Obaid Jooyenda, provided moments of joy for the elderly supported by ADFP. They expressed their gratitude to ADFP officials and described the program as joyful and thanked them.

Introduction

what wE do

No Girl Child should Be Left Behind In Afghanistan

ADFPCIC is a London registered NGO with a global network of Afghan professionals. We aim to raise funding for needy women and girl children of Afghanistan by making it easier for Afghan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to connect effectively with UK SMEs. Adfp supports  value-add manufacturing and trade relationships based on modern fabrication, processing, or preparation of products from raw materials and commodities and including foods, chemicals, textiles, machines, equipment and all refined metals and minerals derived from extracted ores and gemstones.

The challenges endured by the women and girl children of Afghanistan are largely across countries at all levels of development. SMEs play an important role in creating jobs and using our global memberships encourage the meeting of minds  to encourage the employment of women with ownership options in SME economic activities.

Education is the key to empower the women and girl children of Afghanistan to participate in sustainable greater economic inclusiveness as entrepreneurs and in the workforce, a particularly thorny subject in Afghanistan where we are working diligently with the relevant governments to urge non confrontational roundtable engagements.

In spite of women’s history of contribution in the Afghanistan economy and society, they tend to be grossly underrepresented in local SMEs, a scenario that ADFPCIC is working to change by practical partnerships underpinned by the UK SMEs. The UK market may account for a small proportion of Afghan exports but we intend these exports to grow exponentially by including women in overall activities.

Afghan SMEs have fewer resources to meet the high costs often associated with engaging in international markets, and ADFP members would be eligible despite some funding challenges to access vast Afghan natural resources and would be underpinned by UK economic interest funding the new UK – Afghan SME’ relationships enduring mutual benefit.

The rise of global value chains (GVCs) and digital transformation offer new opportunities for the UK – Afghan SMEs to integrate into the global economy. adfpcic.com is engaging with the UK Parliament through the Genesis Initiative London to urge for the best UK policy and consultation environment to help SMEs grow in the respective countries and beyond.
